1/. INTRODUCTION The following amendments update the J 105 Class rules for the BJ105CA. 2/. AMENDEMENTS 2.1 All Bermuda J 105 class yachts shall display sail numbers including the national letters BER, except those sails of visiting overseas crews that will be used by them for the duration of a regatta. 2.2 All boats shall have a complete coating of marine antifouling paint finish on the hull below the waterline(excepting normal wear and tear). 2.3 Should it be necessary to qualify for a regatta then yachts shall be selected using the overall results for the previous year as reported by RBYC or other event as agreed upon by the owners. 3/. ADDITIONAL HELMSMEN 3.1 Any regular stand in helmsman must be a fully paid up Full or Associate Member before he helms in any J 105 one design event . Owners shall provide the BJ105CA with a list of alternate helmsmen and ensure that he or she is a Full or Associate Member.A regular stand in helmsman who is not an owner of a J 105 may be a Category 2 or Category 3 sailor under ISAF rules. This modifies IJ105CA Rule # 3 3.2 In order to encourage potential growth with in the Class an interested party may drive a J 105 with the prior knowledge of the Class but shall be limited to three outings in any one year. Thereafter he or she must become a Full or Associate Member of the BJ105CA before driving again. 4/. SAILS 4.1 Due to the varied nature of the BJ105CA sailing programme in Bermuda, sails may be purchased for use in non One Design events. Such sails are not required to be declared to the IJ015CA and will not affect an owners One Design sail card. 4.2 Non One Design sails shall have a Pink identity tag affixed to the tack at least 4 " square. 4.3 Non One Design sails may be used in cases where One Design sails have been damaged or destroyed until a sail is either repaired or replaced and with the prior consent of the other owners. 4.4 It is the intention to purchase One Design sails at the same time annually in order to maintain a level playing field across the class.Sails may be sourced from any manufacturer. 5/. CREW WEIGHT The following conditions shall apply: 5.1 For International Race Week , National Championships , Local International Regattas or any event where a weigh in is required the International Crew Weight Limit of 1045 Lbs is applicable. 5.2 For RBYC Saturday sailing the International Crew Weight Limit in 4.1 is waived. However if a competitor feels that another yacht is sailing with an excessive crew weight then she is entitled to request that crew be weighed and if found to be more that 10 % (or 105 Lbs) over the International Crew Weight Limit that yacht shall take a 20 % Scoring Penalty for that day's racing. 5.3 For BOCA racing and RHADC Wednesday Evening Racing no weight limit is applicable. 5.4 For any fun event or similar no weight limit is applicable. |
